Rani Ki Vav
Rani Ki Vav is an intricately constructed stepwell located in Patan, Gujarat, India. Built in the 11th century by Queen Udayamati in memory of her husband King Bhima I of the Chaulukya dynasty, it is a stunning example of Maru-Gurjara architecture. The stepwell is famous for its elaborate carvings and sculptures, especially of deities like Vishnu in various forms.
It was designed not just for water storage but as an inverted temple, highlighting the sacredness of water. In 2014, Rani Ki Vav was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Sun Temple
The Sun Temple at Modhera, located in Gujarat, India, is a magnificent 11th-century temple dedicated to the Sun God, Surya. Built by King Bhima I of the Chaulukya dynasty around 1026 AD, it is renowned for its architectural brilliance and intricate stone carvings.
